Smithfield, RI – The University of Maine baseball team was defeated by Bryant University on Sunday afternoon.
Black Bear Scoring Breakdown:
Maine tied the game in the top of the second inning as
Quinn Murphy would hit a sacrifice fly to center field.
Chris Bear (1B) would score on the play.
Dean O'Neill would cap off the scoring for Maine in the top of the 3
rd inning after singling to right center field. O'Neill would be thrown out trying to extend a single into a double.
Brody Rasmussen (1B) would score on the throw.
Black Bear Pitchers:
Gianni Gambardella (5-3) would get the start for the Black Bears pitching 6 innings allowing 4 runs on 12 hits. He struck out 4.
Jason Libby pitched 1/3 of an inning, allowing 3 runs on 1 hit and walked 1.
Jack Dolin faced two batters allowing 2 runs on 2 hits.
Pierce Friedman pitched 1 and 2/3 scoreless innings, allowing 1 hit while striking out 3.
