Orono, ME – The University of Maine baseball team fell in the series finale against Binghamton on Sunday afternoon.

Brody Rasmussen got Maine on the board first with a fielder's choice play to score

Rasmussen would plate the second run for Maine in the fifth inning on a sac-fly to center field, scoring
Damon Gaither (BB).

Gianni Gambardella (4-5) turned in a quality start despite taking the loss as he allowed 3 runs in 7 innings of work. He allowed 7 hits, 4 walks and struck out 6 batters.
Sebastian Holt went 2 innings in relief, allowing 3 unearned runs on 2 hits, 1 walk and 2 strikeouts.
Binghamton Recap:
Binghamton scored two runs in the third, one in the seventh and three in the ninth.
Connor Griffin (2-1) picked up the win in relief while Jackson Mitchell (4) picked up the save.

Maine (20-27, 13-11 AE) heads to UConn for the final weekend of the regular season starting on Thursday, May 15. Maine has clinched a spot in the America East Tournament but will have to wait until after the final weekend of the conference season for their seeding. The Black Bears can be seeded anywhere from seed two through four, top-two seeds earn an opening day bye in the tournament.
