Storrs, CT – The University of Maine baseball team fell against UConn on Thursday night.
Black Bear Scoring Breakdown:
Evan Menzel brought in the first run for the Black Bears on a double down the right field line, scoring
Dean O'Neill (BB).
Aidan Bardi brought home two more runs in the fourth inning as he hit an infield single, scoring
Drew Reynolds (BB) and a throwing error allowed Menzel (2B) to score.
Menzel added another run by way of the home run in the sixth inning as he hit a solo shot to right center, his fourth of the season.
Black Bear Pitchers:
Vaun Larisa (0-1) went 1 and 1/3 in the start, allowing 8 runs on 4 hits, 5 walks and 1 strikeout.
Owen Wheeler went 2/3 of an inning, striking out 1 batter.
Luc Lavigueur went 3 innings in relief, allowing just 1 run on 2 hits, 1 walk and 2 strikeouts.
Brennan Rumpf allowed just 1 hit in a scoreless inning of work.
Jack Donlin allowed 4 runs (3 earned) in 2/3 on an inning. He allowed 1 hit and 3 walks.
Sebastian Holt finished off the contest allowing no base runners and striking out 2 in 1 and 1/3 innings of work.
UConn Recap:
The Huskies scored five runs in the first, three in the second, one in the fourth and four in the seventh.
Greg Shaw III (4-0) picked up the win in relief.
