David Breazeale signs two-year contract with Wilkes-Barre Scranton

Breazeale signed a two-year, one-way deal with the organization.

ORONO, Maine – Defenseman David Breazeale of the University of Maine men's ice hockey team has signed a two-year, one-way deal starting in the 2025-26 season with the American Hockey League's (AHL) Wilkes-Barre Scranton Penguins as announced on Monday by the organization. Breazeale will now join the Penguins on an amateur tryout offer (ATO) for the remainder of this season.
 
Breazeale, a two-year captain, finished his Maine career having skated in all 144 games that Maine played over the last four seasons. He recorded 51 points on eight goals and 43 assists while blocking 164 shots and scoring two game-winning goals from the blue line.
 
The Grandville, Mich. native set a new career-high with three goals this season, including two game-winning goals and one game-tying goal – with all three coming against ranked opponents. Breazeale, who also wore an 'A' as a sophomore, blocked a career-high 49 shots and recording a career-best plus-15 rating.
