Luke Marsanskis has been named the 2024-2025 America East Men's Indoor Track Scholar-Athlete, as announced on Friday by the conference office.
Marsanskis is a graduate student in the Mechanical Engineering program who ended the fall semester with a 3.71 GPA. Marsanskis was also named the Men's Cross Country award winner late last fall. Marsanskis was also named to the America East All Academic Team for Indoor Track.
During the season, Marsanskis finished in 1st place at the University of Maine Multi Invite in the Mile event with a time of 4:06.88 and the 3000m with a time of 8:18.62 back on December 13 and 14. Marsanskis also took home a second place finish at the America East Indoor Championships in the 5000m event with a time of 14:10.73.
Nominees were put forward by their institution, which could nominate up to one student-athlete per sport, then voted upon by the conference's Student-Athlete Engagement committee. Each America East Scholar-Athlete was a projected starter or prominent reserve and carries a minimum cumulative grade-point average of 3.50. Sport Scholar-Athletes are automatically eligible for the America East Female or Male Scholar-Athlete of the Year awards, which will be announced in July.
