Albany, NY – The University of Maine baseball team defeated UAlbany on Friday night.
Black Bear Scoring Breakdown:
Maine got on the board first in the top of the first as
Brody Rasmussen (1B) scored on a sac-fly by
Drew Reynolds.
Dean O'Neill brought home Rassmussen (3B) in the third inning on a single to right field.
Evan Menzel made it 3-1 Black Bears in the top of the sixth inning as he split the gap in left center for a double, bringing home Reynolds (2B).
Black Bear Pitchers:
Colin Fitzgerald (5-3) continued his streak of going at least 6 innings as he made it seven-straight on Friday afternoon. He went 7 innings, allowing 2 runs on 7 hits, 5 walks and striking out 7. His win put him in first place in the America East with five on the season.
Sebastian Holt (7) was called on for the two-inning save, which he converted as he allowed no runs on 2 hits and 1 walk in his 2 innings of work. His seventh save of the season leads the America East by two.
UAlbany Recap:
The Great Danes scored one run in the first and one in the sixth.
