Game 13
Score:Â Stephen F. Austin 9, Maine 7
Stadium:Â Youngsville Sports Complex
How it Happened
- After a scoreless first frame, the Lumberjacks took a 7-0 lead in the bottom of the second on the back of eight hits.
- The Black Bears immediately began to chip away in the top of the third, pushing three runs across … after back-to-back singles from Eviana Robles and Gabby Papushka and an Immy Gie walk, Kyrah Haba-Dailey and Bailey Snowberger had back-to-back sacrifice flies … Francesca Guerrera then doubled in Gie.
- Maine then scored three runs in the top of the fourth, with Nora Campo, Papushka and Gie all crossing the plate to make it a one-run game.
- After Campo walked to lead off the fifth, a Papushka double sent her home to even the score, 7-7.
- The Lumberjacks, though, would use a two-run home run in the bottom of the fifth to take a 9-7 lead before holding off another Maine rally in the top of the seventh.
