ORONO, Maine - The University of Maine women's ice hockey team skated to a 2-2 draw with Holy Cross on Saturday at Alfond Arena.
Mikayla Boarder and
Adriana van de Leest were Maine's goal scorers, while
Courtney Colarullo,
Danielle Brunette, and Mira Seregély each tallied an assist.
Holy Cross was able to tie the game up late in the third period to push the game into overtime. After a scoreless overtime period, Holy Cross picked up the extra point in the shootout.
Maine outshot the Crusaders 37 to 24, with sophomore
Mikayla Boarder leading the way with five shots on goal.
Goaltender
Julia Bachetti made 22 saves for the Black Bears on 24 shots faced.

Maine has clinched the #6 seed in Hockey East, earning a bye into the quarterfinal round. The Black Bears will head to the #3 seed Boston College on Saturday, March 1 for a single quarterfinal matchup at Conte Forum. Game time is still TBD. The winner will proceed on to the semifinals on March 5, hosted at the site of the higher seed.
