BOSTON, Massachusetts – The University of Maine opened up their Indoor Track and Field schedule with the Sharon Colyear Season Opener meet on Saturday December 6.
Matt Firlings took home a 7th place overall finish in the 600m. Firlings set a new Maine Indoor Track school record with this performance with a time of 1:22.29. Reid Wheatly was the only other Black Bear to compete in this event. Wheatly finished 20th overall with a time of 1:25.41.
Jacob Robinson-Smey finished 7th overall with a time of 1:56.67 in the 800m run. Matt Firlings finished 18th overall with a time of 1:59.67.
Kaleb Colson finished the mile run in 34th place with a time of 4:11.52. Dan Knight finished 47th overall with a time of 4:15.08. Jared Fortenberry finished in 49th place with a time of 4:18.48. Carter Libby finished 51st overall with a time of 4:18.63. Ethan Keller finished his collegiate debut with a time of 4:19.88 and finished in 53rd place. Owen Transue finished 54th overall with a time of 4:21.49. Aran Johnson finished 68th overall with a time of 4:44.67.
Harry Grenier finished 180th overall with a time of 14:39.93, finishing as Maine's top overall finisher in the 5000m. Charlie Collins finished 189th overall with a time of 14:47.81.
The Black Bears are back in action on Friday December 12th as the host Husson University at the New Balance Indoor Track.
