Orono, Maine -- The CAA announced on Monday morning that 
Latrell Couchman was named the Defensive Player of the Week in the conference following his performance against Stony Brook. This is the second-straight week a Black Bear has earned this honor.
Couchman, a senior out of Irvington, N.J., put my a season-high in almost every defensive statistic on Saturday against the Seawolves. He had a season-best seven tackles, two of which were solo tackles, to go along with a career-best 2.5 tackles for loss and a career-best two sacks. As a whole, the Black Bears held Stony Brook to just three rushing yards in the contest, a team that was leading the CAA coming into the weekend at 186 per game, and also limited them to just 0.1 yard per rush.
