Field Hockey drops conference opener at UAlbany

ALBANY, N.Y. -- The University of Maine field hockey team dropped its America East opener by a final of 2-0 at UAlbany on Friday afternoon.
Martha Barratt led Maine with a pair of shots on goal while Olivia Geniti, Nicole Kowalewski and Taylor Katsube each added a shot apiece.
Rozárie Mrázová made seven stops in the cage for the Black Bears.
UAlbany's Emma Staron broke a scoreless tie with her third goal of the season at the 20' mark early in the second period.
The Great Danes extended their lead to 2-0 on Jette Kurz's unassisted tally at 40:12.
The Black Bears return to action when they travel to meet Brown on Sunday, Oct. 5 at 12 p.m.
