ORONO, Maine – The University of Maine women's soccer team fell to Vermont, 1-0, on Sunday afternoon in America East action at the New Balance Soccer Complex.
After a scoreless first half, the Catamounts took a 1-0 lead in the 52nd minute when Madelin Gardner sent a shot in from 20 yards out.

Maine kept pushing for the equalizer, out-shooting the Catamounts, but the final attempt dropped at the goal line with the final buzzer.

- Maine had the 16-14 lead in shots … Vermont had a 6-5 edge in shots on goal.
