Box Score DURHAM, New Hampshire -- The University of Maine's field hockey program fell on Friday afternoon to the University of New Hampshire by a score of 4-2.
New Hampshire's Nicole Poulakis would open the scoring for the Wildcats in the 13' minute of the contest.
Maine would respond in the 25' minute on a goal from
Nicole Kowalewski off an assist from
Eloise Penty.
New Hampshire would retake the lead on a goal from Kay Murphy in the 37' minute to give New Hampshire a 2-1 lead. Faye Meijer would score in the 43' minute to give New Hampshire at 3-1 lead. Kathelijne Knuttel would score in the 49' minute to give New Hampshire three straight goals and a three goal advantage.
Saylor Kuefler would respond for Maine with her third goal of the season in the 58' minute to cut the deficit to two.
New Hampshire would go one to win by a final score of 4-2.
Rozárie Mrázová would make six saves in the cage for the Black Bears.
New Hampshire led the game in shots on goal 10-6 and would beat out the Black Bears in Penalty Corners 9-5.
Maine returns home on Friday October 17th as they take on Bryant in an America East Matchup at 3 PM.
