ORONO, Maine -- Maine returns to conference play when it travels to meet #21 UAlbany in the 18th all-time meeting between the two programs on Saturday, Sept. 28 at 3:30 p.m. The contest will be Maine's second of three-straight road games.

- The Black Bears enter play 10-7 all-time against UAlbany. Maine has won seven of the last nine meeting but have dropped the last two, including a 37-21 decision a year ago in UAlbany. Maine lost in its last trip to UAlbany by a 23-21 final. Maine is 6-2 all-time on the road against the Great Danes and have won six of the last seven meetings in Albany. Maine has won nine of the last 13 meetings. The first contest between the two teams came in 1977, a 42-39 victory by the Great Danes in Orono. This meeting marks the 16th consecutive season in which the two teams have faced off. Maine is 9-6 over that stretch against the Great Danes.
- Maine will be looking for its first win over a ranked opponent since defeating No. 13 UAlbany, 38-34, on March 13, 2021.
- Maine is coming off a 26-15 comeback victory at Merrimack. Maine, which trailed 15-6 at the half, outscored the Warriors 20-0 in the second half to secure the win. The win snapped a 10-game road losing skid for the Black Bears. Maine forced a season-high three turnovers in the victory as the Black Hole defense limited Merrimack to just 195 yards, 73 in the second half. The Black Bears held Merrimack to just 1-of-14 on third down in the contest.
- A year after only rushing for 100+ yards in four games while posting seven total rushing touchdowns on the year, Maine's rushing attack has shown much improvement in the early part of 2024. Maine has rushed for 100+ yards in each of its first four outings while posting six rushing touchdowns. Maine featured a balanced rushing attack led by Jaharie Martin (43.5), Tavion Banks (38.8), and Brian Santana-Fis (23.3).
- Montigo Moss, who posted a game-high seven receptions against Monmouth, has five or more receptions in three of his last four outings. Moss checks in fifth in the CAA and 40th in FCS at 5.3 receptions per game and ranks 11th in the CAA in receiving yards per game (59.0).
- UAlbany, which is coming off an 11-4 season after advancing to the NCAA FCS Semifinals before suffering a 59-0 loss to eventual FCS Champion South Dakota State, has won nine-straight at Bob Ford Field at Tom & Mary Casey Stadium. However, the Great Danes enter play riding a two-game losing skid with setbacks at West Virginia (49-14) and #4 Idaho (41-13). Coming off its bye, the Great Danes check in fourth in the CAA with 253.7 passing yards per game with a CAA best 14.4 passing yards per completion. UAlbany, last in the CAA in rush yards per game (72.7), are allowing 37.0 points per game on the year. Quarterback Myles Burkett ranks fourth in the league in passing (253.7) while Dontae Lunan leads the CAA and checks in fifth in all of FCS with 11.3 tackles per game.
