Orono, ME - The University of Maine field hockey program defeated Stonehill College on Sunday afternoon, 3-0.
Goal One: Poppy Lambert scored her third goal of the season as she fired a penalty corner shot into the lower left corner of the net, which hit off of a stick of defender attempting to block the shot.
Victoria Tinghitella (3) and
Olivia Geniti (4) picked up the assists on the score.
Goal Two: Saylor Kuefler was on the receiving end of a perfect pass off of the stick of Floor Dijkuizen (1) for a wide open tap in. The goal was Kuefler's third of the season.
Goal Three: Tinghitella made it back-to-back days with three points as she scored her fourth goal of the season as she grab a lose rebound in front of the net and slotted it into the net under a defenders stick.
Game Notes:
- Maine outshot Stonehill 27-4 on the afternoon.
- Maine generated 12 more penalty corners than Stonehill, leading 17-5.
- Alexandra Sacker recorded two defensive saves on a Stonehill penalty corner.
- Maine recorded back-to-back shutouts for the first time since 2022.

Maine opens up America East Conference play against Vermont on Friday, Sept. 27 in Orono. That game is scheduled to begin at 3 P.M.
