Box Score Bloomington, IN - The University of Maine field hockey team picked up their second victory of the season as they defeated Indiana, 4-2.

After a scoreless opening quarter, both teams found the back of the net twice in the second quarter. Indiana scored the opening goal in the 18' minute before Maine scored on back-to-back penalty corners at 18:16 and 22:36.

Olivia Geniti put both goals in for the Black Bears on the penalty corners.
Poppy Lambert (1) picked up the assist for the first goal while
Victoria Tinghitella (1) picked up the assist on the second goal.

Kate Richardson made it 3-2 Black Bears as she scored her first goal of the season off of a blocked shot by Indiana on a penalty corner at 50:33.

Maine added on another goal late in the fourth quarter as
Micaela Grajales scored on the penalty corner.
Alexandra Sacker (1) picked up the assist on the goal.

Maine scored on four of their seven penalty corner attempts on the day.

Rozárie Mrázová registered eight saves in the contest as she picked up her second victory of the season in net.

Maine (2-1) returns to Orono for a home opening weekend as they host Hofstra on Friday, Sept. 6 and Central Michigan on Sunday, Sept. 8. Those games are scheduled to begin at 3 p.m. and 1 p.m. respectively.
