ORONO, Maine – Bryant University topped the University of Maine softball team, 7-1, on Monday to take the weekend series two games to one at the UMaine Softball Complex.

How it Happened
- After two scoreless frames, Bryant put up four runs in the top of the third on the strength of five singles.
- The visitors then pushed three more runs across in the top of sixth.
- Kenedee Giddens led off Maine's sixth-inning at bat with a single and then Krista Francia tripled to right center but Giddens was called out for leaving the base early … Anna Margetis drove in Francia in for Maine's only run of the day.
- Anna Margetis went 1-for-3 with an RBI and has now reached base safely in five consecutive games.
- Krista Francia was 1-for-3 with a triple and one run scored … she extended her hitting streak to four games.
- Kenedee Giddens went 1-for-2 while Gabby Papushka was 1-for-3.
- Alysen Rieth started in the circle, going 2.1 innings while giving up four runs on five hits with four strike outs … Ava Zettlemoyer went 3.1 innings, allowing three runs – one earned – on five hits with two walks and one strikeout … Caitlyn Fallon pitched the final 1.1 innings, giving up zero runs on zero hits with no walks.
