VESTAL, N.Y. – The Binghamton University Bearcats held off the University of Maine softball team for a 2-0 win on Sunday afternoon at the Bearcats Softball Complex.

How it Happened
- Gabby Papushka singled for Maine in the top of the first inning but got left on base.
- The Bearcats then used a two-run double to left center field to take a 2-0 lead.
- Krista Francia doubled in the third inning and Kenedee Giddens and Katie Jo Moery singled in the fifth and sixth, respectively, but Maine was unable to plate the runners.
- The Black Bears outhit the Bearcats, four to three.
- Krista Francia, Gabby Papushka and Katie Jo Moery all went 1-for-3 at the plate while Kenedee Giddens was 1-for-2.
- Caitlyn Fallon started and went 6.0 innings, giving up just three hits and two earned runs … she registered four strikeouts.
- The Black Bears and Bearcats are slated to close out the series tomorrow with a doubleheader beginning at 10 a.m. at the Bearcats Softball Complex.
