Orono, ME - The University of Maine baseball program snapped their losing streak in a big way as they delivered a walk-off victory over Binghamton on Friday afternoon.
First Pitch: 3:05 P.M. (4-3 Maine)
First Inning:
Jeremiah Jenkins made it three-straight games with a home run as he hit his 17th of the season out to right field, a solo shot.
Second Inning: Binghamton scored one run on a bases loaded walk.
Maine responded in the bottom of the frame as
Jeph Hadson-Taylor singled home
Jake Marquez (HBP/SB) on a ball to center field.
Sixth Inning: Binghamton took their first lead of the afternoon as two unearned runs scored on a single to center field.
The lead didn't last long as Jenkins hit his second home run of the day and 18th of the season to tie the contest up at 3-3 with the solo shot.
Seventh Inning:
Geoff Mosseau began the frame on the mound for Maine.
Jason Krieger turned in a quality start as he allowed 3 runs (1 earned) on 4 hits, 4 walks and 5 strikeouts across his 6 innings of work.
Ninth Inning: Hadson-Taylor delivered the game-winner as he hit a sac-fly to right field, scoring Marquez (2B) as Maine grabbed their fifth America East victory of the season.
Mosseau (2-1) picked up his second win of the season as he allowed no runs on no hits, 1 walk and 4 strikeouts in 3 innings of relief.
Maine (9-28, 5-7 AE) is back in action on Saturday, April 27 for game two of the weekend series against Binghamton. First pitch is scheduled for 1 P.M.
