Orono, ME - The University of Maine baseball team was defeated in the series finale against Rider on Sunday afternoon.

First Pitch: Noon (13-2 Rider)

Second Inning: Jack Friend got Maine on the board first as he had an RBI groundout to shortstop, scoring Zach Martin (BB).

Fourth Inning: Rider scored their first run of the afternoon on a sac-fly to center field.

Fifth Inning: Rider grabbed their first lead of the afternoon on a solo home run in the fifth.

Sixth Inning: Will Burns tied the game up at 2-2 as drove home Connor Goodman (1B) on a double play fly ball to center field.

Seventh Inning: Gabe Gifford began the frame on the mound for Maine. Luc Lavigueur allowed 2 runs on 7 hits, 2 walks and 5 strikeouts across 6 innings of work for his second quality start of the season.

Rider plated three unearned runs in the frame.

Marshall Smaracko was called on to get out of the seventh inning. Gifford recorded only two outs as he allowed 3 unearned runs on 2 walks and 1 strikeout.

Eighth Inning: Rider scored five runs in the frame.

Blaine Cockburn was called on in relief of Smaracko with no outs in the frame. Smaracko allowed 3 runs on 3 hits in 1/3 of an inning of work.
