ORONO, ME - The University of Maine men's and women's track and field teams are set to begin their outdoor season this weekend. 

Three athletes - Megan Randall, Alec Troxell, and Luke Marsanskis - will compete at the Raleigh Relays on March 28 and 29. 

The rest of the team will compete on Saturday, March 30 at the University of Connecticut for the 'UConn Dog Fight' meet. 

About the Black Bears

• Maine brought home eight medals at the America East Indoor Championships last month.
• The Black Bears earned two conference championship titles on the men's side in Luke Marsanskis and Conner Michaud. Marsanskis won the conference title in the 3000m run, placing first with a time of 8:21.55. Marsankis also placed second in the 5000m run with a time of 14:38.20. Additionally, Marsanskis earned the Men's Coaches' Award. Michaud took home first place in the 400m race with a time of 47.71, for a personal best.
• On the women's side, Maine's Cheyenne Figueroa brought home her first America East individual title in the weight throw with a 62' 1" throw.
• The men's 4x4 team relay came in second with a time of 3:13, setting a new all-time school record. The relay team includes Andrew Card, Miles Gay, Josh Sewell, and Conner Michaud. 
• Jon Prell placed second in the conference for shot put, with a throw of 17.03m.
• Mackenzie Wilson took third in the weight throw with a 59'4" throw.
• Megan Randall came in second in the 5000m run with a time of 16:18.53, a personal best that keeps her in second all-time in the UMaine record book.
