Orono, Maine -- Two members of the University of Maine Indoor Track and Field program were named to the America East Indoor Track All Academic team, the conference announced on Wednesday afternoon.
Thomas McCormack and
Ruby Krasnow were the two Black Bears named to the All Academic Team. This is the first time McCormack has been named to the America East All Academic team McCormack, a junior from Brunswick, Maine, is a Finance & Political Science major finishing with a semester GPA of 3.96. McCormack was named the Elite 18 Award recipient at the America East Indoor Track and Field Championships back in February. Competitively, McCormack averaged 4.47m per Pole Vault attempt which included a 1st place finish in the University of Maine Invitational and a 6th place finish at the America East Championships.
Ruby Krasnow was named to the America East All Academic Team for the first time during the Track and Field season. Krasnow was named to America East All Academic team for the Cross Country season this past Cross Country campaign. Krasnow, a graduate student from Huntsville, Alabama, is continuing her work towards her PhD in Marine Biology with a 4.0 GPA in both undergraduate and graduate schools. Krasnow was named the Elite 18 Award recipient at both the Cross Country and Indoor Track Championships this season. Competitively, Krasnow captured five individual 1st place finishes throughout the Indoor Track and Field season. Krasnow also won the America East 3000m Championship along with the IC4A/ECAC 5000m Championship, while also finishing second in the America East 5000m race.
McCormack, Krasnow and the rest of the Black Bears open their outdoor campaign on Thursday in Raleigh, North Carolina for the Raleigh Relays.
