Orono, Maine -- The Maine track and field program opens up their outdoor portion of the season starting on Thursday in Raleigh, North Carolina at the Raleigh Relays.

Athletes to Watch:
Gavin McGarrity - The senior is opening up his senior Outdoor Season after finishing the America East Championships in 9th place during the Weight Throw event. McGarrity will transition into the Hammer Throw for the Outdoor season. Last time McGarrity competed in the Raleigh Relays back in 2025, he finished 21st overall and Maine's top finisher with a distance of 56.10m (184' 1").
Miles Gay - The junior opens up the Outdoor Season after finishing the America East Championships with a 5th place finish in the 400m with a time of 48.04. The last time Gay competed in the Raleigh Relays, he was Maine's top finisher in the 400m and finished 14th overall with a time of 47.58.
Veselja Treacy - The sophomore opens up the Outdoor Season after a very successful America East Indoor Championships finishing with two top 10 finishes, finishing 6th in the 3000m and the 4th in the 5000m. Treacy will be competing in her first Raleigh Relay this week.
Ruby Krasnow - The reigning 3000m Indoor Champion will open her Outdoor Season this week in Raleigh. Krasnow last season at the Raleigh Relays finished 2nd for Maine and 154th overall in the 5000m with a time of 17:24.97.
