BRIGHTON, Mass. – The University of Maine softball team dropped a non-conference game to Boston College at the Harrington Athletics Village on Tuesday afternoon.
In the final game before kicking off America East play, the Black Bears dropped the 10-0 affair to the ACC-foe Eagles.

How it Happened
- Kyli Hernandez started the game off for Maine by earning a walk but Addison Jackson settled in to retire the next three batters.
- The Eagles then platted four runs in the bottom half of the frame.
- Maine kept the Eagles off the board in the second and third but didn't advance a runner past second base.
- Boston College then used a three-run home run to make it 7-0 before pushing across three more with a walk, wild pitch and a sacrifice fly.
- Jackson then retired the side in the top of the fifth for the 10-0 final.
Game Notes
- Ava Zettlemoyer started in the circle … she gave up 10 runs on 10 hits while walking 10 and striking out one.

- Maine will now turn to America East play, opening up the conference slate this weekend at four-time defending champion UMBC.
- The Black Bears will play a doubleheader on Saturday followed by a single game on Sunday.
