ORONO, Maine -- The No. 1 seeded University of Maine women's basketball team (23-9, 14-2 America East) will host No. 3 Vermont (22-10, 12-4 AE) in the America East Championship game on Friday, March 15 at 5 p.m. at The Pit inside Memorial Gymnasium.

Tickets for the championship game are currently sold out online. However, a limited allotment of tickets will be made available on a first come, first serve basis starting at 3:30 p.m. on Friday at the ticket table located in the main lobby of Memorial Gymnasium. Friday's game will air live nationwide on ESPNU and be streamed on
ESPN+. The game will also be carried by local radio on 92.9 FM (Bangor) and 100.5 FM (Portland). Fans can also tune into the game at

Postseason History:
Maine will be making its 23rd appearance in the America East title game. The Black Bears are 9-12 in the title game. Maine made it to the 2020 championship game but did not play as the game was canceled due to the COVID-19 pandemic. Maine will be looking for its first championship since it defeated Hartford, 68-48, in 2019. Maine has appeared in eight of the past nine championship games. Maine and Vermont have squared off seven times in the title game, the last coming in 2000. Maine is 4-3 all-time in the championship game against the Catamounts and 7-4 all-time in postseason action against Vermont.
