BOSTON, Mass. - The University of Maine women's ice hockey fell to the #13 Northeastern Huskies 4-0 on Saturday at Matthews Arena.
With a penalty called on Maine just three minutes into the game, the Huskies capitalized on a power play opportunity to gain the early lead. The Huskies added a second goal past Maine's goaltender
Julia Bachetti in the final minutes of the period to widen the gap.
The second period started with a third goal by the Huskies as Maine dug a deeper hole.
Jorden Mattison replaced
Julia Bachetti between the pipes after Northeastern's third goal.
In the final minutes of the game, Maine pulled their goaltender for an extra attacker, as Northeastern secured the win on an empty net goal.
Julia Bachetti made 16 saves on 19 shots, while
Jorden Mattison made 16 saves on 16 shots for Maine.
The Black Bears were 1-for-2 on the penalty kill and 0-for-1 on the power play.
