TEMPE, Ariz. – The University of Maine softball team closed out the Kajikawa Classic on Saturday, falling to Wisconsin, 9-0, and Arizona State, 9-1.

How it Happened
- In the top of the first, the Black Bears put two runners on base after Kennedy Priest was hit by a pitch and Krista Francia singled to right … Anna Margetis moved them up with a sacrifice bunt but Wisconsin retired the next two batters.
- The Badgers took a 1-0 lead in the bottom of the first on a home run and then pushed five more runs across the plate in the bottom of the fifth for a 6-0 lead.
- Wisconsin scored three runs in the fourth for the 9-0 final.

How it Happened
- After a scoreless first inning, the Sun Devils took a 2-0 lead in the bottom of the second off of a home run and then plated seven runs in the third frame.
- With two outs in the top of the fifth, Kenedee Giddens scored on a passed ball to put Maine on the board but the Sun Devils got the final strike out to end the game at 9-1.
Game Notes
- Alysen Rieth started, going 2.2 innings and giving up five runs on four hits while walking four and striking out two … Ava Zettlemoyer threw 1.1 innings of relief, giving up four runs – three earned – on two hits.
- Kennedy Burns singled in the top of the third for her first career hit … she made her collegiate debut with her start in left field.
- Anna Margetis was 1-for-2 ... she reached base on a fielder's choice in the first inning and singled in the fourth.
