- Maine meets Elon for the first time since 2021 and makes it first trip to Elon since 2019 in what marks the final regular season road trip for the Black Bears in 2024.
- Maine and Elon will meet for the sixth time in history and the first since 2021. The Black Bears enter with a 3-2 advantage in the all-time series and have two of the last three meetings between the two programs. Elon took the latest meeting, a 33-23 Phoenix win in Orono in 2021. Maine is 2-0 on the road against the Phoenix, including a 31-17 victory in Maine's most recent trip to Elon (2019). In that win, Maine jumped out to a 28-0 lead in the first quarter on three first quarter touchdown passes from Joe Fagnano. Maine, which outgained Elon 215-6 in the first quarter, registered six sacks in the win. Two of the last four meetings between Maine and Elon have been decided by five or fewer points.Maine took the first-ever meeting in the series, 24-14, at Elon in 2014. Elon is 2-1 in Orono.
- The Black Bears, 3-1 overall at home, have won each of their last two home games including a 38-26 victory over Bryant last weekend. Maine, which jumped out to a 35-0 lead at halftime, received a career-high four touchdown passes from Carter Peevy while Montigo Moss added seven receptions for a career-high 122 receiving yards with a pair of touchdowns. Brian Santana-Fis added a career-best 104 yards on the ground for Maine's balance offense (269 pass/166 rush). Maine's 166 rush yards was its highest rushing production of the season. With the win over Bryant, Maine is guaranteed a winning record at home for the first time since 2019.
- Elon enters action riding a two-game win streak with recent CAA victories over Campbell and William & Mary. Elon, 1-4 at home this season, is averaging 45.0 points per game over its last two outings with Rushawn Baker leading the way on offense with 321 total rush yards in his last two outings. The Phoenix rank ninth in the CAA in both scoring (24.1) and scoring defense (25.9) while averaging a third-best 6.3 tackles for loss per game. Elon excels on special teams where it leads the CAA in kick returns (26.3) and ranks second in net punting (41.4). The Phoenix rank 16th in the CAA at 29.0 percent on third down.
- Maine, which has doubled its win total over each of the last two years (two each season), has posted a pair of wins over FCS ranked opponents this season as it defeated No. 21 UAlbany 34-20 before handing No.5 Villanova a 35-7 decision. Maine's win over Villanova marked its highest-ranked victory since knocking off No. 3 Weber State on the road in the 2018 FCS quarterfinal round. The 2018 season also marked the last time Maine registered wins over three or more ranked opponents in one season.
- A win for the Black Bears would match its highest win total (6) since 2021.
A Maine Win Would:
...Maine's fourth win over Elon.
...Maine's third consecutive road win against Elon.
...Be Maine's first win at Elon since 2019.
...Be Maine's third win in its last four meetings with Elon.
...Be Maine's most overall wins (6) since 2021.
...Be Maine's most CAA wins (4) since 2021.
...Snap a three-game road losing skid.
...Be Jordan's Stevens' 10th career victory.
