DURHAM, N.H. – The University of Maine women's soccer team topped New Hampshire, 1-0, on Thursday night at Wildcat Stadium to secure the No. 1 seed in the America East Soccer Championship.

The Buffalo Wild Wings Border Battle win also earned the first-ever regular season title in program history. Maine will host a semifinal game at 6 p.m. on Thursday, Nov. 7.

The game's lone goal came in the 24th minute.
Kristina Kelly earned a penalty kick and
Abby Kraemer stepped up and delivered. Over the final, physical 65 minutes, neither team found the back of the net and the Black Bears earned the 1-0 win.

- Maine had the 12-9 lead in shots and the 7-3 lead in shots on goal.
- The Black Bears had four corner kicks while UNH had three.
- Jessica Kasacek made three saves for her sixth shutout of the season.
- Abby Kraemer scored her sixth goal of the season … it was her 10th career game-winning goal.
- Kraemer had a game-high four shots with all four landing on goal.
