ORONO, Maine – The University of Maine women's soccer team earned a 1-0 America East win over UAlbany on Sunday afternoon at Mahaney Diamond.

After a scoreless first half that saw the Black Bears out shoot the Great Danes, 15-1, it was
Abby Kraemer that made it 1-0 Maine in the 56th minute.
Rebecca Grisdale served a perfect ball into the box that Kraemer was able to run on to and flick to the far post with her head.

UAlbany almost broke through but a big save from
Jessica Kasacek and a goal line clearance by
Myla Schneider locked up the 1-0 win for Maine.

- Maine had the 31-6 lead in shots and a 13-2 edge in shots on goal.
- The Black Bears earned 15 corner kicks while giving up 1.
- Jessica Kasacek made two saves for her fifth shutout of the season … Kasacek is now 9-1-2 on the season.
- Abby Kraemer scored her fifth goal of the season … it was her second game-winning goal on the year and the ninth of her career.
- Kraemer had a game-high 10 shots, including four on target.

- The win marked a program record eighth consecutive victory for Maine.
- The Black Bears are the first America East team to start conference play with six consecutive wins since Boston University did it in 2012.
- This marks the first eight-game winning streak by an America East team since 2021.
- The Black Bears are now 12-10-2 in the all-time series with UAlbany.
