Bangor, ME – The University of Maine men's basketball was defeated on Thursday night at the Cross Insurance Center in the Buffalo Wild Wings Border Battle against UNH, 79-74.

Maine jumped out to an early 10-6 lead over the Wildcats entering the first media timeout with Ja'Shonté Wright-McLeish leading the way with four points.

Maine took a half-high lead at 13:40 following a jumper by
Kellen Tynes.

New Hampshire moved out to an eight-point lead in the back-half of the first half before the Black Bears came roaring back to tie up the contest at 34-34 entering halftime.
Quion Burns hit a buzzer-beating three-pointer to end the first half that came off of a
Kellen Tynes block on the defensive end of the floor.

Tynes led Maine in scoring with 10 points in the first half. He added two rebounds, two assists, two steals and two blocks to his stat line.

AJ Lopez had seven points while
Peter Filipovity had four points and three points in the opening half.

Maine came out in the second half and took control of the contest by pushing their lead to 11 points two separate times before the Wildcats ended the contest on a 31-15 run, defeating the Black Bears 79-74.

Filipovity finished with a team-high 16 points and a game-high seven rebounds.

Tynes finished with 15 points, four rebounds, five assists, two steals and two blocks.
Jaden Clayton ended with 13 points, three rebounds, six assists and two steals.

AJ Lopez had 15 points, including three three-pointers.

Maine (8-9, 0-2 AE) head on the road for their next two conference matchups, taking on UMBC on Thursday, Jan 18 and NJIT on Saturday, Jan. 20.
