Albany, NY – The University of Maine field hockey team was defeated by #19 UAlbany on Friday afternoon, 3-1.
Alison Smisdom scored first in the contest for the Great Danes.
Axelle Werbrouck made it 2-0 Great Danes heading into the half.
Charlotte Triggs capped off the scoring in the contest as she made it 3-0.
Olivia Geniti got one back for the Black Bears as she scored with just over five minutes remaining in the fourth quarter. The score was her first of the season.
Mallory Drayer picked up eight saves in net for the Black Bears.
Maine (4-6, 2-2 AE) travels to Hofstra for a non-conference matchup for their next contest. That is scheduled for Sunday, Oct. 1 at Noon.
