Amy Vachon announced the Black Bears' non-conference schedule on Wednesday, July 26. The schedule, which begins on Nov. 6, features 14 contests, including four home games, and a showdown with Indiana at Portland's Cross Insurance Arena.
The Black Bears return all five starters, including the America East Player of the Year
Adrianna Smith and all-conference honoree
Anne Simon, along with their top nine scorers from last year's squad who finished the season 16-14 overall, 11-5 in league play, before advancing to the America East semifinals.
The Black Bears open their 2023-24 slate with a pair of road games at Quinnipiac (Nov. 6) and at La Salle (Nov. 9).
Maine's home opener is set for Nov. 12 when the Black Bears play host to UMass. Maine remains at home when it takes on Rhode Island on Nov. 14.
Following Thanksgiving, the Black Bears will hit the road for Des Moines, Iowa where they will take part in a tournament hosted by Drake. Joining Maine and Drake in the tournament (Nov. 24-26) will be Richmond and Louisiana Tech.
Maine returns to its home state for a marquee match-up with Indiana at the Cross Insurance Arena in Portland on Nov. 30 before hitting the road for a showdown at Fordham on Dec. 2.
A two-game homestand follows for the Black Bears as they play host to Harvard on Dec. 6 and James Madison on Dec. 17.
Prior to the Holiday break, Maine will fly to New Orleans to compete in the Tulane Holiday Tournament alongside Duquesne and Arkansas Little Rock on Dec. 20 and 21.
The Black Bears conclude their non-conference schedule with a trip to Penn on Dec. 30.
Season tickets for the 2023-24 season will go on sale on Friday, July 28 at 10 a.m. and can be purchased at GoBlackBears.com/tickets, by phone at 207-581-BEAR or in-person at the UMaine Athletics box office located inside Alfond Arena.
