McDaniel's Extra Inning Double Wins it For Maine on Sunday Afternoon, 4-3

Maine moves to 9-0 in America East play, their best Conference Start since 1991 in the NAC

Orono, ME – McDaniel's walks it off on Sunday as Maine baseball moves to 9-0 in America East play with a 4-3 win in extra innings.
 
First Inning: Jeremiah Jenkins got the Black Bears going in a hurry for the second-straight day as he hit a solo home run to right field, his 11th home run of the season.
 
Three Inning: Carson Dunkel got the Great Danes their first lead of the weekend as he hit a two-run home run to right field.
 
Fifth Inning: Jake Marquez tied the contest up 2-2 as he hit a sac-fly to center field, scoring Jake Rainess (E6) on the play.
 
Seventh Inning: Justin Hurd broke the tie as he hit a double to left field for the Great Danes.
 
Noah Lewis's day came to an end following the double as he allowed 3 runs across 6 and 1/3 innings of work. He allowed 6 hits, 2 walks and struck out 3 batters. Andrew Chevarie was called on in relief.
 
Colton Carson was called on in the seventh inning after Chevarie failed to record an out, allowing 2 walks.
 
Eighth Inning: Owen Birkman was called on in the eighth inning for the Great Danes. Dylan Banner went 7 innings in the start, allowing 2 runs (1 earned) on 9 hits, 2 walks, 1 hit batter and striking out 6.
 
Ninth Inning: Justin Baeyens was called on in relief for the Black Bears to begin the ninth inning. Carson was strong in relief as he allowed no hits, 1 walk and struck out two runners in a bases loaded situation.
 
Jake Marquez came home to score on a throwing error by the shortstop to tie the game up at 3-3 in the ninth inning.
 
Tenth Inning: Quinn McDaniel walked it off in the tenth inning for the Black Bears as he hit a double down the left field line, scoring Jake Rainess (2B) on the play.
 
Justin Baeyens (2-1) picked up the win for Maine as he fired off two scoreless frames, allowing no hits, 1 walk and striking out 1.
 
Owen Birkman (0-2) took the loss for UAlbany as he allowed 2 runs in 2 innings of work on 5 hits, 2 walks and striking out 2.
 
Maine (15-11, 9-0 AE) is back in action next weekend as they travel to Binghamton for an America East weekend series. Game one on Friday, Apr. 14 is scheduled to begin at 3:00 P.M.
