Orono, ME – The University of Maine baseball team defeated the Hartford Hawks on Saturday afternoon, 2-1.

Jake Rainess got the Black Bears going for the second-straight day as he hit a leadoff home run to left field, his 11
th of the season.

Matt McElwain kept the Black Bears going as he hit his second home run of the season, this one to left field.

Seventh Inning:
Gianni Gambardella came on in relief of
Caleb Leys to begin the seventh inning. Leys allowed no runs on 4 hits, 3 walks and 11 strikeouts in his 6 innings of work.

Joe Dooley was called on in relief to begin the seventh inning for Robert Chaney. Chaney allowed 2 runs across 6 innings of work. He allowed 7 hits, 1 walk and struck out 3.
