Orono, ME – The University of Maine baseball team completed the weekend sweep of Hartford on Sunday, 5-4.

Second Inning: Jackson Ciccone hit an RBI double to left field to bring home the first run of the game for Hartford.

Third Inning: Martin Chavarria plated the second run of the contest for Hartford as he hit a solo home run to left field.
Â
Connor Goodman tied the contest up at 2-2 as he hit a two-run double to right center, scoring
Jake Rainess (1B/SB) and
Quinn McDaniel (BB).

Fourth Inning:
Dylan McNary got the Black Bears in front with a two-run home run to left field, his eighth of the season.
Myles Sargent (1B/SB) scored on the play.

Seventh Inning:
Colton Carson began the inning on the mound for the Black Bears.
Noah Lewis fired off 6 solid innings as he allowed 2 runs on 4 hits, 1 walk and striking out 11.

Jake Rainess made it a three-home run weekend as he hit a long ball for the third-straight game, this one being a solo shot to left field for his 12
th of the season.

Jack Colella was called on to get out of the seventh inning for Hartford. Edwin Almanzar Jr. went 6 and 1/3 innings on the mound and he allowed 5 runs on 8 hits, 4 walk and 5 strikeouts.

Geoff Mosseau was called on to begin the eighth inning for the Black Bears on the mound.
Colton Carson pitched a scoreless seventh inning as he allowed 1 hit, 1 walk and he struck out 2.

Hartford scored their third run on a wild pitch and their fourth run on a groundout.

Ryan Scott was called on to get out of the eighth inning. Mosseau allowed 2 runs on no hits, 1 walk, 2 hit batters and 1 strikeout.

Ryan Scott struck out the lone batter he faced in the eighth inning.
