Binghamton kept up their strong offensive start to the midway point of the opening half as they built up a 10-point lead at the media timeout taken with 12:31 remaining in the first half.

The Bearcats pushed their lead out to 15 points with 9:46 remaining in the first half, but the Black Bears began to answer the with a pair of buckets by
Kellen Tynes to start chipping away at the deficit.

Maine continued to work the Bearcats lead down as Maine went on a 9-0 run from 7:36 to 3:16 to make it a 6-point game at 26-32 as the final media timeout of the first half was called.

The Black Bears kept their scoring run going until it was a 13-0 run, making it a two-point game with 1:24 remaining as it was a 30-32 contest.
