Men's Track and Field Competes in Season Opener at BU, Suffolk, 4x200 School Record Broken

Orono, ME - The University of Maine men's track and field team competed in their season opener at BU and Suffolk on Saturday. 

Graduate Jonathan Prell came in first in the shot put event with a career-best of 16.92 meters. Prell's performance ranks him in third place overall in Maine history for shot put. 

Marek Veal placed third at the meet with 16.06 meters, ranking him eighth of Maine's top-10 perfomers. 

Ryker Brown placed second at the meet in the Weigh Throw event with 17.69 meters. Brown broke his previous record of 17.48m.

Senior Conner Michaud placed first in the 400m run with 48.40 seconds.

In the 4 x 200m Relay, Maine placed first with 1.28.19. This performance is the new top time in Maine's school history. 

The Track and Field team returns home to host a meet vs UNH and Husson on December 8 and 9.
