Women's Track and Field Take First, Men Second in Home Meet

Orono, ME - The University of Maine track and field teams hosted a two-day home meet with Husson University and New Hampshire, with the women's team taking first and men's team taking second.

Top-10 Performances
  • Graduate student Claudia Damboise placed first in women's shot put with a distance of 12.84m which is now her personal best. Damboise is now sixth overall in UMaine history. 
  • Jonathan Prell placed second in men's shot put with a distance of 17.11m; a personal best that sits at third overall in UMaine history. 
  • Ryker Brown placed second in weight throw with a distance of 18.06m; a personal best that sits in fourth overall in UMaine history. 
  • Luke Marsanskis placed first in the one mile race with a time of 4:09.84. This performance places him on the top-10 list, checking in at ninth in school history. 
  • The men's distance medley relay placed first, jumping into fourth place on the school records with a time of 10:24.83. The team consisted of Jack Burns, Josh Sewell, Matt Firlings and Charlie Collins.
