Krasnow captures Gold at America East Championships

Boston, Massachusetts – The University of Maine women's track and field program finished in 9th place at the America East Indoor Track and Field Championships with 33.33 points.
 
Results:
 
Meredith Walters finished as Maine's top overall finisher and 14th overall in the 800m run with a time of 2:17.61. Toni Vaillancourt finished 16th overall with a time of 2:18.42, while Brianna Harriman finished 20thoverall with a time of 2:25.15.
 
Freshman Kara Tschida finished the 1000m run in 13th place with a time of 2:54.88. Searcy Mooney finished 19th overall with a time of 3:01.50 and Emma Tessier finished 22nd overall with a time of 3:04.47.
 
Tschida would finish 14th overall in the Mile run with a time of 5:03.97. Abby Rodriquenz finished 18th overall with a time of 5:08.93. Kennedy Taylor finished 19th overall with a time of 5:09.42.
 
Ruby Krasnow captured a 1st place finish in the 3000m capturing the America East Championship with a time of 9:25.28. Veselja Treacy finished 6th overall with a time of 9:31.55. Evelyn Wool finished 14th overall 10:08.00. 
 
Krasnow would finish 2nd in the 5000m with a time of 16:15.49. Treacy would follow with a 4th place finish with a time of 16:54.69 and freshman Lauren Hamilton would finish 13th overall with a time of 17:48.73.
 
The team of Maddie Cyr, Brianna Harriman, Catherine Primavera and Bayleigh Shanahan would team up to finish in 9th place during the 4x400 relay with a time of 4:07.30.
 
The team of Abby Rodriquenz, Toni Vaillancourt, Kara Tschida and Meredith Walters would team up to finish in 7th place during the 4x800 relay with a time of 9:21.93.
 
The team of Abby Rodriquenz, Meredith Walters, Callie Tennett and Evelyn Wool would team up to finish in 7thplace during the Distance Medley Relay with a time of 12:11.26.
 
Lydia White would finish 8th in the Pole Vault with a final height of 3.30m.
 
Saphryn Humason would finish 10th in the Long Jump with a distance of 5.35m.
 
Humason would finish 6th in the Triple Jump with a distance of 11.86m.
 
Julia Bassi would finish 9th in the Shot Put with a distance of 12.85m while Cheyenne Figueroa would finish 12th with a distance of 11.67m.
 
Figueroa would finish 9th in the Weight Throw with a distance of 16.79m, while Sabine Sites would finish 20thwith a distance of 13.38m.
 
Athena Cusson would finish 10th in the Pentathlon with 3019 points.
 
Maine will open up their outdoor season at the Raleigh Relays from March 25-27th hosted by NC State.
