Kellen Tynes scores a career-high 26 to help lead the Black Bears to their fifth win of the season as they downed the Crusaders of Holy Cross, 72-57.

The Black Bears jumped out to an early 11-2 lead at the first media timeout behind seven-straight point from
Kellen Tynes to open the contest and then four-straight points from
Peter Filipovity.

Tynes kept up his hot start as he had 13 points in the first 6:43 of the contest and helped Maine push out to an 19-8 lead at the second media timeout.

Maine held their lead throughout the first half as they took an eight-point lead into the break at 37-29.

Tynes was nearly unstoppable in the first half as he scored 20 points on 7-for-9 shooting, including three three-pointers.

Filipovity had seven points and six rebounds in the first half.
Jaden Clayton had a 5-3-2 stat line, including two steals.

Maine began the second half on a 7-2 run to push their lead back to double-digits with 14:49 remaining in the contest.

The Black Bears continued their dominance in the contest as they took down Holy Cross, 72-57.

Maine never trailed in the contest, their second time in their past three games that they have accomplished the feat.

Kellen Tynes set a new career-high in scoring as he had 26 points on the night on 8-for-13 shooting. He shot 3-for-4 from three-point range and 7-for-9 from the free throw line.

Jaden Clayton scored the second-most points in his collegiate career as he had 15 points in the win. He grabbed five rebounds, dished out five assists and had three steals.

Peter Filipovity registered his second double-double of the season as he had 15 points and tied his career-high with 12 rebounds. He also had a game-high four steals for the Black Bears.

Maine (5-4) returns to Orono on Sunday, Dec. 2 as they take on Brown University. Tip-off is scheduled for Noon.
