Orono, ME - The University of Maine field hockey team was defeated by Quinnipiac on Sunday afternoon, 2-0.
Sophia Pompeo scored both goals for Quinnipiac on the afternoon, one in the first quarter and one in the second.
Cristina Torres picked up 11 saves for Quinnipiac while Mallory Drayer picked up one save for the Black Bears.
Maine (6-7, 3-2 AE) returns to conference action on Friday, Oct. 13 as they travel to New Hampshire for the Buffalo Wild Wings Border Battle against UNH. That game is scheduled to begin at 2 P.M.
