Orono, ME - The University of Maine field hockey team wrapped up the regular season with a loss against California, 4-1.
Bente Baekers and Danielle Rhodes scored the first two goals of the contest for California before Poppy Lambert scored her fourth goal of the season for the Black Bears on a penalty corner. Assisting on her score was Mallory Mackesy (7) and Eloise Penty (2).
Kitty Baccanello scored twice in the final 8 minutes to make it a 4-1 contest.
Jayde Temby made eight saves in the contest.
Maine concludes the regular season with a 7-11 record and a 3-5 America East record. The Black Bears head to UMass Lowell for the America East Tournament on Thursday, Nov. 2 as they enter the tournament as the six-seed and they will face the three-seed of New Hampshire.
