Orono, ME – The University of Maine field hockey team was defeated at Vermont on Friday afternoon, 2-1.

Saylor Kuefler got the scoring going for the Black Bears as she scored her fifth goal of the season early in the third quarter off of a feed by
Kate Richardson (2).

Vermont scored the next two goals as Lilly Leiprecht and Alina Gerka scored as the Catamounts took the win, 2-1.

Jayde Temby took the loss in net for Maine as she picked up two saves on the afternoon.

Maine (7-9, 3-4 AE) returns to Orono on Sunday as they take on Northeastern. That game is scheduled to begin at 1 P.M. and will be Dog's Day Out. All dogs in attendance will be given a free Maine bandana, while supplies last.
