Orono, Maine -- University of Maine freshman guard Sarah Talon has been named the America East Rookie of the Week, as announced by the league on Tuesday, Jan. 3.

Talon poured in a career-high and game-high 21 points as she helped guide Maine to a victory in its conference opener at Bryant. Talon, who finished 8-of-12 from the floor, was perfect from three-point range (2-of-2) and the free throw stripe (3-for-3) while adding a career-high five rebounds in the performance. Talon also tallied two steals, a block, and an assist in the victory.

The Black Bears return to action on Wednesday, Jan. 4 when they host UMass Lowell at Memorial Gymnasium at 7 p.m.
