The Black Bears got their offensive in rhythm early as they went on an 11-0 run out of the opening media timeout to get up 16-5 in the first 6:33 of the contest.

Gedi Juozapaitis had it going early in the contest for the Black Bears as he had 10 points in the first 10 minutes of the opening half on a very efficient four of six shooting from the field.

The Black Bears hit 14 of their first 18 shots on the afternoon to keep the lead in double-digits at 37-23 with 6:04 remaining in the opening half.

The Black Bears went into the half with the half never trailing in the opening 20 minutes of the contest.

UMBC took control of the contest down the stretch as they went on a 15-3 run to take a 79-72 lead over the Black Bears with just under two minutes remaining in the contest.

UMBC came away with the victory on the afternoon, 85-77.
