Orono, ME – The University of Maine field hockey team dropped a close one against Quinnipiac on Sunday afternoon, 1-0.

The Bobcats would get the lone score of the contest in the second quarter as Emilia Massarelli deflected a shot attempt by Eva Veldhorst on the penalty corner attempt.

Cristina Torres posted the shutout in the net for the Bobcats, compiling 10 saves in the contest.

Mia Borley picked up a pair of saves in the one goal against performance.

The Black Bears (1-3) stay at home as they play host to Hofstra on Friday, Sept. 9 and Kent State on Sunday, Sept. 11. Friday's game is scheduled to begin at 3 P.M. and Sunday's game is scheduled to begin at 2:30 P.M.
