Box Score ORONO, ME – The University of Maine field hockey made it a 2-0 weekend as they defeated the Golden Flashes of Kent State on Sunday afternoon, 3-1.
 
Sydney Meader got the scoring going for the Black Bears as she scored her second goal of the season to get the Black Bears on the board first in the opening quarter of the contest. Tereza Holubcova (3) picked up the assist on the long set up pass on the play.
 
Sydney Meader would keep the scoring going as she buried her second of the game, third of the season to increase the Black Bear advantage to two. Mallory Mackesy (1) and Chloe Walton (1) picked up the assists.
 
Mallory Mackesy would get the second half going for the Black Bears in the scoring department as she knocked in her fourth of the season. Julia Ross (3) picked up the assist on the play as she sent in a perfect pass to Mackesy in front of the net.
 
The Golden Flashes would get on the board as Maia Sarrabayrouse netted her second goal of the season on the penalty corner. Patricia Strunk (2) and Victoria Tinghitella (3) picked up the assists.
 
Mia Borley finished the contest with a strong outing, picking up eight saves in the winning performance.
 
Maine (3-3) hits the road for a quick one-game trip to Northeastern on Sunday, Sep. 18. That game is scheduled for 12:00 P.M.
