ORONO, Maine -- The University of Maine women's soccer team defeated the Bryant University Bulldogs, 4-0, on Sunday afternoon at the Mahaney Diamond.

First Goal (1-0 Maine): Just over nine minutes into the non-conference match-up,
Halle Rogers scored the first goal of the first half for the Black Bears. After corralling a bouncing ball from a
Jordane Pinette corner kick, Rogers fired two shots with one finding the back of the net. The lead would double in five minutes.

Second Goal (2-0 Maine): Bryant was called for a foul in the box, which meant the Black Bears were given a penalty kick.
Abby Kraemer took advantage and doubled her squad's lead. At the half, Maine held a 2-0 lead.

Third Goal (3-0 Maine): Abby Kraemer fired a ball that deflected off a Bryant defender and into their own net. The own goal was Maine's third of the day.

Fourth Goal (4-0 Maine): Susannah Gaines wanted to join the scoring party in the 52nd minute. The super senior received a pass from another super senior,
Birte Speck. Gaines took a clean strike from beyond the 18 yard box and found the back of the net. The goal gave Maine a 4-0 lead. It was the final goal of the afternoon as the Black Bears won their second game of the 2022 season.

Maine recorded 12 total shots on goal to Bryant's five while both teams recorded four corner kicks.

Halle Rogers and
Susannah Gaines both scored their first goals of the 2022 season, while
Abby Kraemer scored her second in three games.

Kira Kutzinski turned away five shots during her second shutout of the season.
