ORONO, Maine - After scoring her first career goal in Maine's 4-0 victory over Saint Peter's, freshman and Gorham, Maine native Madison Michaud has been named the league's Rookie of the Week.

Michaud sent the Black Bears into the halftime break in style with a goal at the 43:57 mark of the first half. The freshman received a pass from one of her captains, Saylor Clark, before turning on the jets and finding the back of the net for the first time in her University of Maine career. This is also Madison's first career conference accolade.

The Black Bears are back in action Thursday night when they host Merrimack College. Kick-off is scheduled for 7:00 pm.
